Abstract In this paper, we investigate the problem of wideband sensing for cognitive radio. Due to resource constraint, a node targets at finding given number spectrum holes, which is studied under novel architecture. Specifically, can dynamically focus its measurements on different portions contiguous channels. An adaptive scheme proposed standard Bayesian experimental design framework via three steps: (1) define cost that incorporates numbers desired (2) hypothesis testing rule detect access opportunities, and (3) identify adapt during process. order facilitate implementation, further propose an approximated experiment reduce computational complexity. The performance gain our demonstrated numerical simulation.
